GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The State of Montana Department of Corrections is actively searching for Hunter J. Peffers, a 26-year-old man who escaped from the Great Falls Pre-Release Center. Peffers, who was arrested for criminal mischief, failed to return to the center at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Peffers is described as being six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, and Caucasian, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black polo shirt, tan slacks, and using a walking stick.

The authorities urge anyone who sees Peffers to immediately notify law enforcement. The Department of Corrections continues to investigate the circumstances of his escape and is working diligently to ensure his swift return to custody.
